Path of Exile 2 is the highly anticipated next-generation Action RPG from Grinding Gear Games, set in the dark and dangerous world of Wraeclast. This sequel builds upon the foundations of its predecessor, introducing a brand-new campaign divided into six acts, packed with 100 distinct environments, 600 monsters, and 100 bosses. A sinister force known as Corruption has begun spreading across the land, bringing madness and devastation to its inhabitants. Designed for both solo adventurers and co-op parties of up to six players, Path of Exile 2 offers a deep, customizable experience with rich gameplay systems, including revamped character classes, an improved skill gem system, and dual specialization mechanics. Whether you're uncovering ancient secrets or battling monstrous dangers, this is a game that challenges players to master their strategies and adapt to its dynamic challenges.
Build Your Path with Twelve Character Classes
Path of Exile 2 introduces twelve character classes, offering players unparalleled freedom in shaping their gameplay style. These classes represent all combinations of Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence, each designed to cater to unique playstyles. But the journey doesn't end with initial class selection—the game allows players to combine skills across multiple classes to refine and develop their ultimate character build. Each base class also features three specialized Ascendancy Classes, bringing the total to 36 advanced options for skill enhancement. This layered system ensures that players can craft characters tailored to their preferences, whether they seek raw power, precision, or magical dominance.
Master the New Skill Gem System
One of Path of Exile's hallmark features, the Skill Gem system, has been reimagined for Path of Exile 2. This sequel introduces 240 active Skill Gems and 200 Support Gems, which can be combined to create devastating abilities. In a major improvement over the original system, Support Gems are now socketed directly into Skill Gems, making it possible to six-link every skill your character uses. This change removes previous frustrations while preserving the intricate depth that fans love. The new system empowers players to experiment, optimize, and unleash their ideal builds in combat, offering both flexibility and strategic complexity.
Dual-Specialize Your Passive Skill Tree
Path of Exile 2 retains its iconic Passive Skill Tree, now featuring 1,500 skills to unlock and customize your gameplay experience. The tree introduces a groundbreaking feature: Dual Specialization. Players can allocate passive skill points to two different sets of skills that activate depending on the weapon or ability being used. For example, you can simultaneously specialize in daggers and traps or ice and lightning, seamlessly switching between builds during combat. This system encourages creative combinations and enables players to excel in multiple areas without sacrificing efficiency, making your character's evolution more dynamic than ever.
Uncover and Equip Unique Items
Gear customization in Path of Exile 2 reaches new heights with 700 equipment base types, each featuring its own unique items to discover. Players can wield an expanded arsenal, including Spears, Crossbows, and Flails, alongside redesigned items like Sceptres and supplementary tools such as Focuses and Traps. The game emphasizes exploration and experimentation, allowing players to continuously refine their loadouts to suit their strategies. Whether you're seeking rare treasures or crafting powerful upgrades, the item system ensures a rewarding journey through the dark continent of Wraeclast.
Confront Unique Bosses with Distinct Mechanics
Every area in Path of Exile 2's campaign includes a unique boss encounter, totaling over 100 memorable battles across the six acts. Each boss presents distinct mechanics that challenge players to adapt and strategize, ensuring that no fight feels repetitive. From monstrous creatures to cunning adversaries, these encounters test your mastery of combat and understanding of your build. Learning and overcoming these challenges is crucial to progressing further into Wraeclast and uncovering the secrets that lie within its corrupted lands.
Explore a Rich and Dynamic Endgame
Completing the campaign marks the beginning of a new adventure in Path of Exile 2's expansive endgame. The sequel introduces diverse biomes, challenging bosses, and powerful crafting systems that encourage further exploration. Players can unlock special passive trees that enhance map rewards and alter endgame mechanics, making maps more difficult but significantly more rewarding. Familiar leagues from the original Path of Exile return with fresh bosses, monsters, and progression systems, ensuring that the endgame remains captivating and unpredictable. The depth and variety of content keep players engaged long after the main story ends.
Experience a Fair and Balanced Progression System
Grinding Gear Games maintains its commitment to a fair-to-play philosophy in Path of Exile 2. The game avoids pay-to-win mechanics, ensuring that all progression and rewards are earned through gameplay. Purchases made within the game are shared between Path of Exile 2 and its predecessor, allowing players to enjoy both titles seamlessly. This dedication to fairness ensures that the focus remains on player skill, strategy, and perseverance, offering an experience that rewards commitment and creativity without external advantages.
Path of Exile 2 invites players to forge their path in a world brimming with danger, opportunity, and discovery. From its intricate systems to its darkly atmospheric setting, every element of the game promises a deep and rewarding adventure.
